Les Schwab Tires for Purpose Terms and Conditions

If your organization is selected, Les Schwab will provide your organization the following:

  • A set of four (4) passenger or light truck tires for your non-profit organization’s own operational vehicle. The approximate retail value of the tires is $1,500.
  • You must pick up the tires at a Les Schwab Tire Center located in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Alaska, Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, New Mexico or Nebraska. Les Schwab will coordinate with you regarding the specific Les Schwab Tire Center at which you can pick up the tires. You are responsible for the cost of travel to pick up the tires.
  • You may have the tires installed on your non-profit organization’s vehicle at the Les Schwab Tire Center where you pick up the tires, for no charge.
  • You cannot sell, donate, or give away the tires. The tires may only be used on your non-profit organization’s operational vehicle.

Eligibility

  • To apply for the Tires for Purpose program, your non-profit organization must be a registered 501(c)(3) entity and must be located in a state that has Les Schwab Tire Centers.
  • Only organizations whose work benefits the community-at-large may apply.
  • Les Schwab Tires for Purpose is not intended for government, political, religious, or for-profit organizations.

Selection Criteria

Les Schwab will select the organizations to receive the tire donation, using Les Schwab’s discretion. Organizations with initiatives that focus on the following are more likely to be selected to receive the tire donation:

  • Growing Great Kids – Instilling in kids small town values like honesty and integrity that have helped our communities thrive
  • Living Strong Values – Working hard and serving the community
  • Making it Possible – Making things happen for the community that might not have been a reality otherwise
  • Organizations that focus on benefiting their local community directly

There is no guarantee your organization will be selected.

Les Schwab intends to select 350 donation recipients across all regions that have Les Schwab Tire Centers. These regions and totals include 100 in the Northwest Region, 100 in the Western Region, 45 in the Southwestern Region, 50 in the Mountain Region and 55 in the North Central Region. See Store List Per Region Below. If, however, Les Schwab does not receive enough qualified applicants in a given region to select the above outlined donation recipients for that region, Les Schwab will select additional qualified donation recipients in other regions. Les Schwab intends to donate a set of tires to three hundred fifty (350) organizations total.

If your organization has received a donation from Les Schwab through our Tires for Purpose donation program in a previous year, this might (in Les Schwab’s discretion) impact whether your organization is selected to receive another donation.

Number of Tire Donations

Les Schwab intends to select three hundred fifty (350) organizations to receive the set of tires donation in 2025. However, Les Schwab is not obligated to select three hundred fifty organizations if fewer than three hundred fifty qualified organizations, as determined in Les Schwab’s discretion, submit applications. See above regarding the number of intended donation recipients per region.

Timing, Selection, and Notification of Selected Organizations

Tires for Purpose applications are accepted from 2/17/25 - 8/31/25 (the “application window”).

Applications will be reviewed on a monthly basis, and Les Schwab intends to select up to 11 donation recipients in Northwest Region, 11 donation recipients in Western Region, 5 donation recipients in Southwest Region, 6 donation recipients in Mountain Region and 6 donation recipients in North Central Region each month during the application window (with selections starting in March 2025). In addition, Les Schwab will select the remaining donation recipients by November 30th, 2025. If your organization is not selected in a given month, you do not need to submit a new application; your application will still be considered for selection in future months during the application window or after the end of the application window. Still, since Les Schwab will select donation recipients each month during the application window, we recommend submitting your application as early as possible during the application window.

Les Schwab will only notify applicants that are selected to receive the tire donation. Les Schwab will notify those selected applicants within fifteen (15) days of when they are selected. Once an applicant is notified that it was selected to receive the tire donation, the applicant must respond to Les Schwab’s notification within ten (10) business days. (If the applicant does not respond within this timeframe, the applicant will be ineligible to receive the donation.) Les Schwab will then work with that selected applicant (referred to as a “recipient”) to determine the Les Schwab Tire Center at which the recipient can pick up the tires and/or have them installed. Each recipient must pick up the tires or have them installed by no later than February 28, 2026.

Publicity

Recipients might, in Les Schwab’s discretion, be announced on Les Schwab’s website (www.lesschwab.com), on other websites, on various social media platforms, in press releases, at Les Schwab’s tire centers, and/or in other marketing materials.

Recipients might also be asked to collaborate on a media release or other promotional material to share how the Les Schwab Tires for Purpose donation has helped their organizations. For example, your local Les Schwab Tire Center team would be happy to take a photo with you when you pick up the Les Schwab Tires for Purpose donation, which you could post on your organization’s social media accounts or in a newsletter. If requested, you (meaning the person submitting the application on behalf of an organization) agree to sign a release in which you consent to Les Schwab’s use of your name, likeness, city of residence, statements, and voice for promotional purposes relating to the donation.

Additional Terms:

  • Each recipient must use its voucher for the four tires by February 28, 2026. After this date, the voucher will no longer be valid.
  • Tires for Purpose vouchers have no cash value, cannot be applied to earlier purchases, and can only be applied to one transaction (you cannot save a portion of the voucher for later use). No transfer, substitution, or assignment of the voucher by a recipient is permitted.
  • Les Schwab will issue a Form 1099 MISC to each recipient for the verifiable retail value of the tires, and the recipient is solely responsible for filing this completed form with the Internal Revenue Service. All applicable federal, state, and local taxes associated with acceptance and use of the tires are the sole responsibility of each recipient. All expenses and items not specifically mentioned in these terms are not included and are each recipient’s sole responsibility.
  • Each organization can only submit one application per year and is only eligible to be selected for a donation once per year. However, different chapters of the same organization (i.e. located in different towns/cities within qualifying states) might qualify for a donation in the same year; each chapter must submit a separate application.
  • The donation must be accepted as awarded. Restrictions, conditions, disclaimers, and limitations regarding the tires might apply and will accompany the tires.
  • By submitting an application, you and your organization agree to release Les Schwab Warehouse Center, LLC and its related entities and affiliates and all Les Schwab Tire Centers, and each such company’s present and future officers, directors, shareholders, employees, and agents (collectively, the “Releasees”) from any and all claims, lawsuits, actions, allegations, demands, liabilities, losses, damages, injuries, death, damage to or loss of personal property, and costs and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) of any kind arising out of or relating to this donation program, your application, these terms, Les Schwab’s publicity and marketing regarding this donation program and your receipt of a donation (if you are a recipient), and/or the donated tires and your use thereof.
  • Personal information provided with applications is subject to Les Schwab’s Privacy Policy located at Privacy Policy. You (meaning the person submitting the application on behalf of an organization) agree that you have read and that you understand this Privacy Policy.
  • Releasees are not responsible for and have no obligation to notify applicants of: (i) errors that might occur in the administration of the donation program or the processing of applications; or (ii) forces beyond Les Schwab’s reasonable control that might cause the program to be disrupted.
  • Except where prohibited, all applicants (regardless of whether they are recipients) agree that: (i) these terms, and the rights and obligations of the applicants and Les Schwab in connection with this donation program, will be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Oregon without giving effect to any conflict-of-law rules that would result in the application of the laws of any other jurisdiction; (ii) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this donation program or the donation awarded will be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the federal, state, or local courts located in Deschutes County or Multnomah County, Oregon. Applicants submit to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts located in Deschutes County and Multnomah County, Oregon for any and all claims and causes of action relating to this donation program or the donation awarded; (iii) regardless of any statute or law to the contrary, you must file any claim or cause of action against Releases arising out of or relating to this donation program or the donation awarded within one (1) year after such claim or cause of action arose, or forever be barred; (iv) any and all claims, causes of action, judgments, and awards will be limited to the greater of (a) actual out-of-pocket costs incurred by the applicable applicant relating to the donation program (if any); or (b) USD 50.00, but in no event will any applicant be awarded attorneys’ fees; and (v) under no circumstances will applicants be permitted to obtain awards for, and applicants hereby waive all rights to claim, indirect, punitive, special, exemplary, enhanced, incidental, and/or consequential damages. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR CERTAIN DAMAGES SO THE ABOVE MIGHT NOT APPLY TO YOU.
  • If any provision of these terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable pursuant to applicable law, then the invalid or unenforceable provision will be deemed superseded by a valid and enforceable provision that most closely matches the intent of the original provision, and the remainder of these terms will continue in full force and effect. Les Schwab’s failure to enforce any provision of these terms will not constitute a waiver of such provision then or on another occasion, and will not constitute a waiver of any other provision.
  • Les Schwab reserves the right to cancel, suspend, and/or modify the donation program.
  • Unless otherwise clarified, the words “you” and “your,” as used in these terms, refer to the non-profit organization that applied for the donation.
